oil on canvas 18 x 24

This painting was a whole new direction for me. Not as painterly as the plein air landscapes. Still, it is always fun to experiment. That is my right hand and also me as the bartender. This piece has been sold but like Degas and many others, if I were in front of it again, I'd probably work on it once more.

I really really like this. Where do you sell your work?

Broady, thanks. I used to be in a few galleries around the country. Had to stop for a while. Now beginning again, thinking of going direct, like others are through blog and ebay.

Love it. You can also set up ur own website and promote it - more professional than ebay and you can really make your creativity shine.

Hi there, I love your paintings. Your comment about working on your painting again reminded me of something that was said in The Sea, by John Banville, which won the 2005 Man Booker Prize. One of his characters is doing a book on Bonnard, who said something along the lines that a painting is never finished, it's just finally abandoned. He also tells the story of Bonnard going to a gallery somewhere in Switzerland I believe, where one of his paintings was hanging, which apparently he wasn't quite ready to abandon. He had a friend distract the guard and then whipped out his paint box and did a few touch ups while it was on the gallery wall. If you like to read this is a very good book, too!
